Bark In The Park Festival
Deel
Last weekend, we were at the Bark In The Park Festival for the first time.
We weren't really sure what to expect. This became immediately clear upon arrival when we realized we had overlooked some preparations. In hindsight, we can laugh about it, but at that moment, doubt certainly crept in.
Beforehand, we had even questioned whether we should go. A large delivery of products we were counting on was delayed, so we had less stock than planned. I said to Vin, "Should we really do this? Won't we look a bit foolish with so few items?" Luckily, Vin is a true optimist. He thought we should go for brand recognition, the experience, and especially because it would be fun. And he was absolutely right.
What made it even better was that we shared our stall with two incredibly pleasant entrepreneurs who, like POOT., had only recently launched their webshop. We recognized many of each other's challenges and doubts, but this also allowed us to support and help each other.
The first few hours were a bit awkward. Even though we had practiced the stall setup several times at home, we still changed everything multiple times. We also started doubting prices, products, and presentation again. I think that's just part of entrepreneurship. You want to do everything well and constantly question whether you are making the right choices.
But as the day progressed, the doubts gave way to enthusiasm. We met the faces behind Instagram accounts with whom we had already been in contact. We spoke to other entrepreneurs who are also pursuing their dreams. And what perhaps stuck with us the most was how kind and supportive everyone was. People spontaneously shared our products on their social media, gave us tips, or simply came to wish us success.
That might seem like a small thing, but it isn't. Every time someone shares a small business, it helps a brand grow and a dream come true. We are incredibly grateful for that.
During the festival, we also frequently received questions about the charity POOT. supports. That mission still stands strong. From the beginning, it was our vision to give back to animals in need. At the moment, we are still a young brand and are looking for the right collaboration that truly fits POOT. Our reach, platform, and network still need to grow and find their way in this regard. But one thing is certain: helping animals remains an important part of what POOT. stands for.
As we often say: we grow every day. We learn, make mistakes, adjust things, and try again. I've been told that I shouldn't show too much uncertainty or tension because it might come across as weak. I disagree. I believe it shows strength when you are honest about the things that are challenging, about the moments when you doubt, and about everything you learn along the way. After all, entrepreneurship isn't always smooth sailing.
Bark In The Park not only gave us many great memories but also more confidence. Confidence that we can do this, that POOT. is growing step by step, and that we are already looking forward to the next event.
To everyone who stopped by, chatted, bought a product, followed us, or supported us in any way: thank you. 🤎
